What we aim to solve
The major problem the Florida springs and rivers are facing is degradation. The main factors are pollution and over-pumping of groundwater from the aquifer resulting in a lower water quality and overall detriment to the ecosystem.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Our goal is to educate the public about issues the springs and rivers are facing, inspire and recruit these individuals to join us on cleanups, and then educate and encourage them to vote for candidates that will further the protection of these and other natural resources.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our outreach strategy relies heavily on social media. We document our cleanups and other events and we create fun and unique posts to gather interest via social media. As our media footprint grows, we are able to gather more volunteers. We also have an emailing list and have new volunteers signup at public events.
Our education outreach is currently through public tabling events but will eventually involve local schools in class and through field trips to the springs.
Our voter encouragement strategy happens primarily on social media and through word-of-mouth at events. As we grow, and learn more about local environmental politics, this portion of our organization will grow and increase outreach.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
With current outreach and income, we are able to host approximately 8 cleanups per year, table at near 12 events per year, and have about 200 volunteers who attend various events.
With an average of 20 attendees at each cleanup, we are effective at removing trash from various rivers and springs in North/Central Florida, and have an average of 5 volunteers attending cleanups in the Orlando/Kissimmee area.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
So far we have hosted more than 2 dozen events, removed more than 5,000lbs of trash from various areas, and purchased and rolled out a website that will eventually act as an educational resource for FL springs conservation.
In the coming years we hope to expand our cleanups to more springs and parks, build our website as an educational resource for Springs conservation, create a documentary highlighting issues with the Springs, and partner with various organizations to raise awareness for problems the springs are facing.
