Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

We aim to equip grieving children and their families with the tools to heal and rebuild their lives by providing a pathway to healing and resilience in the face of profound loss. We recognize the unique challenges faced by youth who have lost a parent, often their primary provider and central support system. Through our services, we strive to restore hope, stability, and coping mechanisms as they navigate life's complexities without their loved ones.

LCI serves as a guiding light for grieving families, offering a roadmap to navigate the complexities of grief and change. By filling in the gaps and providing essential support services, we help youth stay on track and work towards achieving their goals despite the challenges they may face.

Our strategy for achieving our goal of equipping grieving children and their families with the tools to heal and rebuild their lives involves several key components:
Comprehensive Support Services: Develop services tailored to grieving children and their families' unique needs, including counseling, support groups, educational workshops, and recreational activities to foster healing and resilience.
Holistic Approach: Take a holistic approach to addressing the needs of grieving children and families by considering their emotional, psychological, social, and practical needs. Offer resources and assistance that address these various aspects of their lives to promote overall well-being and stability.
Partnerships and Collaborations: Forge alliances with other organizations, professionals, schools, and community groups to expand the reach and impact of support services. Collaborate with mental health professionals, educators, and social service agencies to ensure comprehensive support for grieving children and families.
Empowerment and Skill-Building: Empower grieving children and families by providing them with the tools, resources, and skills they need to navigate grief and rebuild their lives. Offer workshops and programs focused on coping mechanisms, resilience-building, and goal-setting to help them regain control and agency.
Long-Term Support: Recognize that the journey of grief is ongoing and provide long-term support to grieving children and families as they navigate the ups and downs of the grieving process. Offer ongoing counseling, support groups, and follow-up services to ensure they have continued access to the support they need.
Community Education and Awareness: Raise awareness about the unique challenges grieving children and families face and advocate for their needs within the community. Offer educational programs, outreach events, and public awareness campaigns to promote understanding and empathy for those experiencing loss.
By implementing these strategies, LCI can effectively fulfill its goal of providing a pathway to healing and resilience for grieving children and families, ultimately restoring hope, stability, and coping mechanisms in the face of profound loss.
