What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Young Writers Program

Young Writers Program is designed to help connect young people and the older population through storytelling. The young writer will listen to the stories as they are narrated and then write about what they heard and perceived and in their own way and how the story impacted them.

Population(s) Served
Children and youth

Healthy Body Healthy Mind sessions are designed to have the storyteller tell of their way of life as they lived it. In the sessions they will explore old home remedies and exercise and illnesses that were encountered during their time and how they combat those illnesses. Sharing family medical history is important, so that future generations can know how to create a better health history for their family. There is potential to modify lifestyle factors that contribute to unhealthy lifestyles (e.g., caloric intake, physical activity levels, sleep hygiene) and to improve the health and well-being of people. Modifiable lifestyle factors have been targeted to improve health outcomes. Healthy Body Healthy Mind (HBHM) program was developed to provide an integrated evidence-based program incorporating practical diet and exercise instruction; alongside meditation and mindfulness strategies, and comprehensive psychoeducation, to improve the physical and mental health.

Population(s) Served
