Public School Autism Program GiveBack

The Fundraising Program will host various types of fundraising events to support our organization but also to support other community programs, public school programs and the community. The funds will help run our organization and keep special needs programs servicing our communities. Most large scale fundraisers will be held quarterly. However, our t-shirt fundraiser will be done throughout the year with the release of a new t-shirt design quarterly. The proceeds for these events will be used to fund the organization's daily operations and fund program activities.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Raising Ralph Foundation would hope to have developed public and private partnerships to create programs dedicated to servicing communities in Prince Georges County. These partnerships would not only help the autism community but also public-school education programs for special needs. Raising Ralph would like to redefine the special education system to look at how to better service the children.

Our primary goal over the next 12-18 months is to:
Further develop and expand our Public-School Programs - Raising Ralph would like to adopt two public school autism programs a year to provide support to their programs with technology, sensory equipment, and any other needs of the program.

Develop our Autism Sensitivity Training program for the community - Raising Ralph would like to develop a program that educates and trains community leaders and first responders on how to interact and engage with autistic citizens. By helping them recognize when a person is neurodiverse. It is extremely important in black communities where police presence is increased.

Expand our Parent Support Groups and Resources - As early detection and support are key to the success of educating autistics children, expanding the resources and relationships we have within the community as well as expanding our support groups for parents is essential to helping families navigate the process of finding right services and resources for their child.

Host quarterly events for autistic kids and siblings - Raising Ralph is dedicated to helping our children feel warm and welcome in the community. We do this by hosting events that are specific to autistic children and their families. Promoting events focusing on inclusion.

Our strategy to approach systems change is educating ourselves and our community. It is our responsibility to intentionally seek out resources to learn the ugly truth of how we got to where we are today – and keep learning about autism advocacy and the fight for fair and equitable treatment for those with neurological disabilities like autism. It is letting our local elected officials know that we are advocating for more funding for special education and programs within our communities.
