The OMPowerment Project

Community Centered Healing and Capacity Building

Santa Monica, CA   |  https://ompower.org

Mission

The OMPowerment Project’s mission is to empower individuals, predominately refugees, to lead themselves and others in the healing practices of trauma informed yoga. We offer week-long trainings that provide skills to create safer space in communities, free of labels and judgement, in which men and women can relieve anxiety and build confidence and self-esteem. Our trainings focus on tools for self-regulation – grounding, centering, orienting, and breath – through movement, breathwork, and voicework. After training, individuals are equipped with the tools to share these practices with others, creating a ripple effect of awareness in communities that otherwise do not have access.
