What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

In the face of mobility challenges and aging, a significant number of older adults and those with special needs find themselves isolated, unable to partake in the simple joys of nature, grappling with a sense of insignificance, and developing a fear of embracing new experiences. This challenge underscores the urgent need for initiatives that foster inclusivity, encourage outdoor engagement, instill a sense of purpose, and alleviate the apprehension associated with venturing into novel and fulfilling experiences among this vulnerable demographic.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Trishaw rides for older adults and anyone with special needs with mobility challenges

Cycling Without Age Littleton (CWAL) offers uplifting and free trishaw rides to individuals seeking physical, mental, social, and psychological well-being through outdoor experiences and shared life stories. Our trishaw rides take place on a three-wheeled electric assist bicycle featuring a forward bench, accommodating 1 to 2 passengers, guided by a certified pilot seated directly behind. These rides cater to individuals facing mobility or stability challenges, providing them the joy of reconnecting with nature and relishing the sensation of the wind in their hair. In addition to individual rides, we organize multi-trishaw events for diverse occasions such as family reunions, birthdays, anniversaries, as well as participate in community parades and events. Join us in creating memorable moments and fostering a sense of community through the joy of trishaw rides with CWAL.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To be a positive force in the community bringing all walks of life together by providing a trishaw experience which positively benefits passengers physically, mentally, socially and psychologically. Our desire is to ensure the most vulnerable do not become the least visible and to help volunteers be the best versions of themselves through ridership, volunteerism, and community support.
