Facilitating animal adoptions by connecting fur-ever families
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
There are immeasurable animals that need a home as a result of abandonment, rehoming, and semi-feral (strays). People who want to add a pet to their family often purchase said animal from a pet store or breeder. Our mission is to connect families looking for a pet with owners who are surrendering their pet. This way, the family searching for a pet finds a loving companion that matches their lifestyle without contributing to the multibillion dollar pet trade.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Diversity Committee
The Diversity Committee was established with the goal of initiating the conversation about how systematic oppression has impacted pet ownership. This committee will be responsible for reviewing materials distributed by the Organization to assess cultural competency and racial inclusion; committee members will suggest any relevant changes. The committee will also be responsible for advising the Executive
Directors on matters related to diversity, inclusion, and representation.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Connect families who want a pet with owners who no longer want or cannot keep to provide each animal with a loving home without contributing to pet breeding.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Search for owner surrenders or for posts indicating a family's desired pet. From there, interview potential families and connect with the family surrendering.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have two directors/founders who are committed to helping animals get placed in a furever home.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
We have placed ~15 animals in their forever homes since July 2020.

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
