Our primary goals are increased academic proficiency and growth of our students
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our strategies include:
-Unique curricular materials, taking inspiration from Montessori, direct instruction, project-based learning, and gifted education
-An accelerated approach, along with innovative scheduling that allows each student to find their point of optimal challenge
-A team-teaching approach to strengthen class community, provide a more relaxed learning environment, and support professional development
-Provision of nutrition and transportation services to ensure accessibility
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
Telra's board of directors and staff have been selected for experience in educational leadership, gifted and special education, and business and non-profit management.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Telra Institute was approved as a charter school by the North Carolina State Board of Education and has opened and is operating a facility for the 2021-2022 school year. Telra is also constructing a new building to house the school for the future beginning in year 2022-2023.
