Our mission is to feed families in need while reducing food waste and greenhouse gas emissions. We are an environmentally-focused organization that seeks to serve individuals in need and the planet. We do this through of food recovery projects, tree plantings, and beach clean-ups.

Food Recovery
We partner with large distributors that sell food to grocery stores, rescuing safe-to-eat food that would otherwise be thrown away because it is approaching its expiration date. We then transport this food to impoverished urban communities (favelas) where we partner with local community leaders to distribute the food to families in need. The food goes through at least three rounds of triage before reaching the families we support, and we never distribute expired food. Brazilian law 14.016 of 2020 protects organizations engaging in food recovery.
