Youth Art & Education Program

The Sonoran Arts League is committed to advancing art and art education, with a special focus on mentoring youth with the belief that arts training helps develop the abilities to focus and strengthens cognitive skills in young people. The Sonoran Arts League fosters artistic growth in the following ways:

- Scholarship Awards
- Free Youth Art Education Workshops
- Incentive Awards - art supplies and awards for students
- Summer Art Camps
- Student Art mentoring and art edcuation

The Sonoran Arts League is proud to offer a FREE Veteran Art Program to our military community, both active and retired. The Veteran Art Committee oversees all programs offered to our veterans: from free art classes to special events, exhibits, public murals, and art shows.

The FREE Veteran Art Program bridges the United States Armed Forces and the arts communities by bringing the arts and art education to veterans and military free of charge.

The program offers high quality art activities, education and programs for a broad spectrum of constituents.

Notable programs impacting target groups include:

Hidden in the Hills Artist Studio Tour, our signature event that offers opportunity for the public to learn about artists’ techniques from 199 artists at 47 Host Studio

Empty Bowls Project, benefiting the Foothills Food Bank in support of World Hunger Day

Youth scholarships for graduating high school Seniors and summer scholarships for youth art camps; art events, mentoring and workshops for the youth

Art in Public Places, bringing free art events and exhibits to the general public (in partnerships with local towns and municipalities - and libraries)

The Gallery at el Pedregal, providing opportunity for member artists to exhibit, workshops, demonstrate, network and sell their artwork

Veteran Art Program, free art classes and exhibits for military veterans; and art classes and seminars for community members.

The Sonoran Arts League Center for the Arts, located in Stagecoach Village in Cave Creek, provides an identifiable creative destination venue for a wide variety of art activities, allows for expansion of programs and free art workshops, free meeting space, attracts more participation from constituent groups, increases opportunities for partnerships with business and community organizations, and demonstrates our commitment to artists, art education and the art community.
