Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Donations is our greatest need. We opened our sanctuary in 2013 and finally achieved our 501(c)3 status in January of 2021. Up until this point, we had relied on funding every program from our own pockets. Now, we have the amazing opportunity to accept donations, and we are in desperate need as our animal population at the sanctuary has grown.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Rescue
Our rescue program is made up of people with huge hearts and a hard work ethic. From tiny baby guinea pigs, to orphan foals, to pregnant kitties, we have seen so many different animals come into our rescue. Sometimes, we find them in shelters. Sometimes, we find them on the side of the street. Sometimes they are dropped off by owners who no longer wanted them, and sometimes they simply show up to our sanctuary. But each and every one of them are welcomed with open arms.
Rehabilitation
Sometimes we intake animals with serious health issues. In fact, most of the animals who have come to our sanctuary were either abandoned by their previous owners or surrendered due to accidents or health issues for which they could no longer afford to provide care. We, at Two Trees Sanctuary, provide for the daily needs of each animal from wound care to physical therapy, feeding programs, and medicine administration. We partner with some excellent veterinarians in our local area and our animals have amazing care. We have been privileged to watch many of our animals' lives transform for the better by being here with us.
Retirement
Our sanctuary was founded initially as a retirement home for senior and special needs animals. We have approximately 46 animals that live here permanently and most are seniors. Countless animals are abandoned or surrendered to shelters when they become old and medically dependent. We have happily taken these precious beings into our arms, and they live the remainder of their lives (for however long that may be) at our sanctuary. When they pass, they are never alone. One of us, if not all of us, will be close, holding them, and thanking them for the beautiful life they had shared.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
We have many goals ahead. Our first at this time is to complete construction on our sanctuary so that we will have more space to provide our homelike environment for our rescues and retirees. We also just partnered with Petsmart Charities and will be growing our adoption program. In the future, we want to implement a program training rescue dogs to be service dogs for veterans.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
We are marketing and applying for grants whenever possible.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?

- We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
