Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Literacy Source is committed to preparing our adult learners for the world beyond our walls – helping them reach their self-identified college- and career-related goals by integrating skills they will need in these arenas with basic literacy instruction.
Community-based organizations like Literacy Source provide a critical service by prioritizing services for low-income, high-need students who may need more flexible scheduling, individualized instruction and/or on-going support and guidance to succeed.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
-Further develop and expand our English and Work class
-Conduct a basic workplace skills assessment with all learners and incorporate employment readiness skills
-Implement student success goals to meet workplace preparation goals
-Continue partnering with the City of Seattle's Ready to Work program
-Continue partnering with employers to provide ESOL class for workers
-Continue partnership with SEIU NE Healthcare Training Fund to provide ESL + Computer classes for janitorial and dietary staff at five area hospitals.
