What we aim to solve
Mission: SFAF promotes health, wellness, and social justice for communities most impacted by HIV through sexual health and substance use services, advocacy, and community partnerships. In 2019, SFAF launched a five-year Strategic Plan with a vision to achieve health justice and with a deepened commitment to addressing the political, social, and environmental conditions that create health disparities. As a direct service organization, SFAF strengthens the public health system and actively engages our clients in developing solutions to structural barriers and systemic oppression they may experience. San Francisco AIDS Foundation strives for a day when: · Race is not a barrier to health and wellness; · Substance use is not stigmatized; · HIV status does not determine quality of life; and · HIV transmission is eliminated.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Housing/Rental Subsidy
This program provides rental assistance to over 350 individuals. Through the work of our client advocates and the clients themselves, over 95% of these individuals remain stably housed. Participants in the program must be referred from the San Francisco Department of Public Health's Housing Waitlist and/or through Centers of Excellence.
