Aphasia Center of California

Rebuilding communication. Transforming lives.

aka ACC   |   Oakland, CA   |  http://www.aphasiacenter.org

Mission

The Aphasia Center of California, founded in 1996, was the first independent nonprofit organization in the United States dedicated to providing treatment to individuals with aphasia. We are dedicated to helping families and stroke survivors understand the ramifications of aphasia on their daily lives and to improving the quality of life for all affected. We provide individual and group speech-language treatment, reading and writing groups, caregiver's training, and recreational classes at our Center. As an internationally recognized model program, we also provide education to professionals and the public at large, including frequent publications and presentations about our innovative programs.
