Rise Above The Disorder
Too many people can't afford mental health care. We’re working to change that.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Rise Above The Disorder (RAD) is dedicated to making mental health care services more accessible to all. Currently over 450 million individuals in the United States alone struggle with mental health issues and nearly 70% cite access and cost as the main reasons they have not started care. These numbers have increased significantly in the midst of the COVID 19 Pandemic due to significant shifts in society and employment uncertainty. These struggles also disproportionately affect people of color, youth, the LGBTQIA+ community and many other underserved minority communities.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Universal Mental Health Care
With the two greatest barriers to recovery being access and affordability, RAD responds by providing entirely free mental health services made available to anyone in the world.
The process works by having one of our social workers find the best possible care local to those in need, then using our donations to cover the cost on the person's behalf.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
RAD pairs applicants with licensed social workers on our CARE Team who personalize a wellness program to each individual. By guiding applicants through the process of finding a therapist, budgeting for costs, and navigating insurance, our CARE Team helps thousands match with their perfect therapist. If the applicant is unable to afford services, 100% of the costs are covered by donations.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
Our therapist finder enables people all over the world to take their first major step towards recovery. The program directly connects applicants with our clinical social workers, who personalize the entire process of healing.
The therapist finder has a 97% success rate, with only 3% of people stopping therapy after the first session. Our social workers take the time to understand how people are feeling, educate them on their health, and use this knowledge to find the perfect therapist for them.
Our flagship grant program entirely covers the cost of mental health services for those in need. For the millions of people around the world hoping to feel well again, this system makes it possible. Using the same process as of our therapist finder, we locate the best possible support then use donations to cover the cost. Our social workers remain a major support system for the duration of care, able to help find additional support for medication, medical care, meditation, or transportation as needed- still entirely covered by donations.
In addition to our flagship programs, RAD is also strongly aligned with the gaming community and regularly partners with top video game streamers, influencers and brands to increase mental health awareness. Past supporters include Coinbase, Microsoft, MTV, and Columbia Records. RAD has also collaborated with Demi Lovato, Wiz Khalifa, Imagine Dragons, xQc, Ludwig and Mr. Beast, with the latter three being top streamers who amass an online audience of over 3.1million.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
We have a team of licensed social workers who are all exceptionally trained to personalize the care system for each individual. We also have our business development team who works to cultivate corporate and brand partnerships to further our mission. We are well networked in the gaming industry and already work with several of the top online influencers, streamers and brands.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
Since its inception, RAD has helped over 39,000 individuals across 133 countries and saved over $702 million dollars in health care costs through both programs. 62% were female and 38% were male. 66.3% were between the ages of 12-22 years old. Currently over 200 individuals per month are actively receiving help from grants and over 500 individuals per week are accessing a service provided by RAD. Each of the 11 case managers handles 25-30 active cases at a time and we are averaging over 150 new grant applications per month.
