The Mission At Kern County's purpose is to provide an environment conducive to the physical, emotional and spiritual well-being of the people we serve, by showing the love of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to assist each of our residents and guests to achieve the highest possible level of independent living.

Homeless Intervention Services

Emergency shelter for adult males. Guests are provided shelter, 3 meals daily, showers, laundry, case management, phone access, referrals. Those who stay with us must choose one of 4 tracks so that we may aid them in their return to independent living: 1) Entering a drug or alcohol program 2) Seeking employment 3) Vocational training 4) Seeking Government assistance (i.e. Social Security)

One year in-house programs for men and where they can learn to lead changed lives by building a relationship with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This program provides all basic necessities such as meals, clothing, and shelter as well as classes in recovery, relationships, basic Christianity, Discipleship, Bible, Anger Management, 12-Step, Life Skills, and more.

Separate Men's and Women's in-house 2-Phase Aftercare Programs where graduates of our programs may begin reentering main stream life while living in a Christian environment and continuing growth in their walk with our Lord. Phase one is a 90 day period where employment is obtained and, after 45 days, a small stipend is required that helps defray costs and has them investing in their own future. Phase 2 is a continuation of phase one where they also learn to budget while working toward getting a vehicle and saving toward getting a place of their own while continuing with their Christian education. This period may last up to 9 months.
