What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Assistance League of Antelope Valley is working to positively impact the community by plugging in to programs offering support and guidance for those identified as needing it most . The region we serve has unique needs ranging from high populations of homeless youth and foster children to high rates of domestic violence. Our group is committed to serving children in need and equipping the next generation of parents with the tools they need to be successful at home. We are engaging the local school districts to offer scholarships and donations to promote literacy and encourage the arts and sciences in the classroom, ensuring our students have greater access to learning.

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Assistance League of Antelope Valley has adopted the following goals: 1. Provide services and programs that serve to meet the needs of our community. 2. Engage in outreach opportunities to grow our membership. 3. Increase community awareness of Assistance League Antelope Valley and partnering organizations.

-Engage local philanthropic organizations to promote partnerships
-Maintain membership
-Advertise membership on social mediums
-Organize fundraisers with community partners
-Evaluate and improve programs within the community

Assistance League of Antelope Valley maintains a membership of 72 community volunteers, who pay dues to further the mission of the organization. We host annual fundraisers and engage local stakeholders to ensure our financial support to the programs we work with. These organizations have a longstanding reputation of service in a region that has a great need for partnership, and we work to further their outreach and success. Our elected officials and community leaders know they can count on Assistance League of Antelope Valley to join in service and meet our community's needs.

Assistance League of Antelope Valley was founded in 1959 and has worked to adapt to the needs of the region as it continues to grow. Beginning as a day care center to serve the local healthcare community, our group has seen the needs shift and we have adjusted with multi-layered outreach to serve the rapidly growing population. We are proud to have supported our local schools this year with a program providing 4,700 backpacks to students in need and have committed $12,000 across six separate school districts to provide musical instruments. Our group continues to plug our funding directly back into the community as needs arise. We have expanded our outreach to the greater region, in an effort to serve not only our students but also our veterans. Assistance League of Antelope Valley plans to continue to partner with the community to serve the specific needs our region and be a positive influence.
