An all volunteer group of community volunteers, The El Capitan Stadium Association (ECSA), a 501 (c) 3 non profit, has been dedicated to providing support to the Youth of Lakeside, CA for over 55+ years through donations in support of youth arts, sports, education, community groups and youth community activities. Further: To improve, maintain and operate the Lakeside Rodeo Grounds in order that said grounds are available for rent and fundraising events that benefit the Youth in the Community of Lakeside, California.

What we aim to solve
The El Capitan Stadium Association dba Lakeside Rodeo is an all-volunteer group that operates a facility dedicated to generating funds to be donated to the youth of Lakeside. The funds are donated to support scholarships, youth education, youth arts, youth sports and facilities, youth community groups, youth health and youth community events. Critical to the local school districts, Lakeside Union School District and Grossmont Union School District, the funds donated by ECSA ensure that gaps created by underfunding on the state and federal levels are closed and that the students receive the best resources in all areas mentioned. The all-volunteer membership of the ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo works 12 months of the year to maintain the facility and to liaison contracted rentals and student (teachers, district students, youth community groups) use of the facility. There is no paid staff.

A permanent facility used in fundraising for the Youth of Lakeside, CA. The 8 acre facility is comprised of an arena, a meeting hall, parking lot and pens. The proceeds from this facility are donated to the youth of Lakeside to support education, the arts, youth sports, youth health and youth community groups.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
The ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo all-volunteer organization is dedicated to providing access to education, training and resources for every youth living in Lakeside to improve the students learning environment and students life skills acquisition.
We believe that a quality education and supportive community organizations are essential to improving the lives of the youth of Lakeside, CA.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
The ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo maintains an 8-acre facility that is available for rental 10 months of the year which generates income to donate to the youth of Lakeside.
The ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo provides a virtually no cost meeting place and use of the facility to Lakeside educators and students.
In support of youth agriculture, the ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo strives to provide a month long no cost venue for the Annual Eastern San Diego County Junior Fair.
The ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo all-volunteer membership hosts the Annual Lakeside Rodeo which generates funds to donate to the youth of Lakeside.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
The El Capitan Stadium Association (ECSA)/Lakeside Rodeo owns the 8-acre permanent facility known as The Lakeside Rodeo (Arena). The facility is maintained and administered by volunteers with no paid staff. Funds realized from rentals and donations to ECSA are placed to support the youth of Lakeside, CA.
The ECSA volunteer Board of Directors meet monthly in support of business decisions.
The ECSA volunteer general membership meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month to receive formal requests for donations and resources from students, educators and community youth leaders. The membership, following Robert's Rules of Order conducts business within the bi-monthly meetings to include the donation of funds in response to the requests.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
The ECSA/Lakeside Rodeo strives to improve and update the facility in 2020 - 2021. We are seeking grants to assist us in our building improvement efforts, engaging in marketing for new rental income and actively recruiting diverse volunteers.
