Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
California State Preschool Program
This program provides preschool children of low-income parents with preschool education services at licensed centers. The objective is to prepare the child to become school ready by the time they enter kindergarten.
Child Care and Development
Provides full-day care to preschool children of low-income working parents. This program allows parents to remain in the workforce while their children are in a center base licensed center learning educational concepts designed to prepare them for the first day of Kindergarten.
Kern County Job Training Center
Provides classroom job training in Clerical/Office occupations and Bookkeeping occupations as well as computer skills, GED training and Work Experience Programs. The objective is to place program graduates in entry level jobs.
Senior Nutrition Program
Provides congregate and home delivered meals to seniors aged 60 and over, Monday through Friday, year round. In addition there is a transportation program designed to transport seniors to medical appointments and grocery shopping.
Child Care Subsidy Program
This program provides assistance with child care to individuals on public assistance and low-income working parents to that they can remain in the workforce.
Child Care Resource & Referral Program
Provides referrals to all families regardless of income to licensed child care providers who need child care while they are working.
Maintains a toy and book lending library to providers so they can have an environment where children can thrive.
Community Services Program
In this department, services offered include no-cost tax preparation services, financial literacy workshops, immigration services, lending circles, and health initiatives.
