Mission

The Los Angeles County Science and Engineering Fair (LACSEF) is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that conducts an annual science and engineering fair for 6th - 12th grade students from public, charter, private, and homeschool schools throughout Los Angeles County. It provides an opportunity for students across the county to design, develop, and display their science and engineering research and discuss it with experts in their field. In addition, the Fair provides teacher workshops throughout the county to help teachers understand how to implement inquiry-based, hands-on scientific and engineering research in their classes, something that is at the heart of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). The fair serves as a gateway to the California State and ISEF competitions.
