What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
General Education and Research on the Death Penalty
DPF sponsors research projects and opinion polls, organizes year-round public education and professional media campaigns, and develops conferences, seminars and workshops. DPF publishes and distributes a variety of publications and manages an interactive website. Our newsletter The Sentry and our monthly email bulletins provide comprehensive information on current death penalty news. DPF distributes thousands of pieces of educational materials each year, available in both English and Spanish, and has developed an educational curriculum for high school teachers interested in discussing the death penalty with their students. DPF produces and aggressively disseminates opinion editorials, letters to the editor, press releases and reports to newspapers. Board members and staff participate in hundreds of radio, television, and print interviews each year.
California Crime Victims for Alternatives to the Death Penalty
California Crime Victims for Alternatives to the Death Penalty (CCV) is a coalition of families, friends, and loved ones of murder victims who oppose the death penalty. The coalition supports families, friends, and loved ones in telling their stories and being heard. CCV educates the public about alternatives to the death penalty and provides information, resources, and support to families regardless of their views on the death penalty or whether the perpetrator has been apprehended. www.CaliforniaCrimeVictims.org(http://www.CaliforniaCrimeVictims.org)
Clergy and Faith Community Mobilization Project
This project seeks to identify, energize and mobilize clergy and the faith community in California against the death penalty.
Law Enforcement Outreach Project (LEO)
This project lifts up the voices of law enforcement and seeks to increase their visibility as opponents of the death penalty.
International Campaign to End the Death Penalty
Death Penalty Focus has been working to end the death penalty worldwide for several years now. We have sent speakers to conferences and events in Canada, Germany, Italy, Ireland, and France and we currently hold a seat on the steering committee of the World Coalition Against the Death Penalty, which aims to strengthen the international movement against capital punishment. The coalition, which is made up of 65 member organizations and/or states, works to eliminate the use of the death penalty in retentionist countries by facilitating the development of national and regional coalitions, lobbying international organizations and States, and organizing events which have an international impact.
Justice Advocates
We work with people who were convicted for crimes they didn't commit. We help them become advocates for a better justice system and arrange for them to meet with legislators, journalists, students, faith communities, and civic groups
Youth Outreach
We meet teachers and students to critically examine the continued existence of capital punishment in this day and age. We present a range of lectures, offer a public policy curriculum, and arrange speaking events featuring members of CCV, LEO and Justice Advocates in order to put human face on the death penalty debate.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
Ending the death penalty is the only way to "fix" the systemic problems. Alternative sentencing would eliminate the risk of executing innocent people, provide legal closure to victims' families, and save taxpayers approximately $150 million every year.

What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
