What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Every year, our program has a waiting list of qualified individuals that we are unable to serve because of accommodation limitations. The number of people in need greatly exceeds the current capacity available.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

St. James Inn is actively and consistently raising and saving funds to purchase additional properties, in order to increase the number of individuals we are able to serve.

St. James Inn continues to host an annual fundraiser that raises the majority of the funds needed to subsidize our program. We apply to foundations for grants yearly and are looking to expand our relationships with such corporations and foundations. We continue to rely on individual donors for private donations, as well. In order to grow this network of supporters and to increase awareness of St. James Inn, we are looking to expand our affiliation and programs with local schools and organizations.

St. James Inn hopes to increase attendance at the annual fundraiser and introduce additional fundraising opportunities throughout the year.
We have applied for additional grants and are researching other potential compatible matches for financial gift giving. We restructured our donor software for more effective donor communication and accounting. The position of Director of Development focuses on forming relationships that get the local community and supporters more actively involved through fundraisers, printed and electronic literature distribution (newsletters, flyers, emails), social media broadcasting, and service and outreach programs.

St. James Inn has robust relationships with a stable set of foundations we rely on for annual grants. We added a new relationship and were awarded a sizable donation from new community partner Saint John's Health Center Foundation in 2023. Our 2024 fundraiser had a record number of attendees and exceeded our fundraising goal. The Board convened in May 2024 to strategize on expanding the board, fundraising opportunities, hospital partnerships, and increasing community involvement.
