What we aim to solve

Student Wish List Project is working to address two issues: nonprofit organizations need more in-kind donations to better support the work they do for our community; and there is a dearth of volunteer opportunities for school-age children.

Goals & Strategy

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Student Wish List Project is designed to help charities and children's hospitals increase their in-kind donations of needed 'wish list' items, as well as provide volunteer opportunities for children of all ages.

To address both issues, Student Wish List Project helps students organize online in-kind donation drives that allow items to be purchased online and, in most cases, shipped directly to the charity. Student Wish List Project has partnered with several charities, which receive 100% of all donations. Student Wish List Project is completely nonprofit and does not charge a fee for its services. In addition to providing opportunities for children of all ages to give back to the community through online donation drives, Student Wish List Project also helps to arrange volunteer opportunities with us or with our partnered charities for students who have already conducted a SWLP donation drive.

Student Wish List Project has developed partnerships with 9 charitable organizations as well as a comprehensive website that allows students to research the different partnered charities and submit a request to start a donation drive. We also have dedicated volunteers for community outreach to increase our presence and develop partnerships; to help with the website and creating online donation drives; to ship and deliver donations when necessary; and to arrange and supervise volunteer opportunities.

In our first three months, we have added one partnered charity, for a total of 9 partnered charities. We have also organized 14 donation drives benefiting 8 of our partnered charities, generating more than $5,300 in in-kind donations for our charities to date (11/27/18). We have organized 4 volunteer opportunities for 5 students, age 9 to 13. We are actively and constantly looking for other great nonprofit organizations that might need help with in-kind donations as well as researching volunteer opportunities for kids with our partnered charities and establishing a system for application and placement. We are organizing a events for the new year designed increase donations for a few of our partners, and are always trying to spread the word to recruit more student volunteers.
