What we aim to solve

As many may know, millions of pets enter into shelters around the world every single year. Most of those pets, especially owner surrendered pets never make it out the front door. Many never get a second chance at life. These pets end up in shelters due to family medical emergencies, deployment, relocation/moving where pets are not allowed, natural disasters, unwanted litters due to unaltered pets, etc. This is a major problem nationwide as shelters are at max capacity and there simply are not enough homes for all of these pets. We are working towards keeping pets out of shelters and in homes.

We strive to keep pets out of shelters and in safe and loving homes. When community pet owners have medical emergencies, lose their job, get deployed, move, a natural disaster strikes, etc sometimes they may think their only option is to put their pet(s) in a shelter. Our goal is to help provide them with support during these difficult times so they can keep their pet(s). We may provide pet food, supplies, medications or temporary boarding for their pet(s). Our goal is to use various techniques to keep pets out of shelters including offering free and/or low cost spay and neuter surgeries to community pet owners.

We provide pet food, medications, supplies such as flea/tick preventative and heartworm medication, spay/neuter surgery and temporary boarding/fostering. For us every situation is different and depending on the circumstances we will use different means to accomplish our goals.

We have partnered with larger non-profit organizations as well as multiple clinics and vet offices across multiple states to provide care for community pets. We have organized multiple fundraisers for family pets and we are in the process of partnering with multiple shelters in our areas.

We keep track of each pet we help with data reporting software.

As of May 1st, 2019 we have provided freedom from hunger for 26 pets, we have distributed 21 bags of dog food to households, we have played a key role in keeping 24 pets from entering the shelter and we have 32 pets that have benefited from our low cost/free vet care and spay/neuter services.

Organizational Demographics

In order to support nonprofits and gain valuable insight for the sector, GuideStar worked with D5—a five-year initiative to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy—in creating a questionnaire. This section is a voluntary questionnaire that empowers organizations to share information on the demographics of who works in and leads organizations. To protect the identity of individuals, we do not display sexual orientation or disability information for organizations with fewer than 15 staff. Any values displayed in this section are percentages of the total number of individuals in each category (e.g. 20% of all Board members for X organization are female).
