Programs and results

What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The world is inundated with information overload. Students feel overwhelmed instead of inspired. Some students feel like school is tricking them to get money. Other students have a thirst for knowledge, but are not properly trained in how to learn or how to create tangible goals for themselves. Parents are busy working and keeping bills paid and cannot afford expensive mentorship programs or do not have access to the fields of study their children desire from world-class professionals. Education doesn't address the demands of the Modern Workforce needs from top companies.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Ignite Curiosity

Give students the opportunity to explore their surroundings and then share their learning experiences with their peers.
This method utilizes the SMILE (Self-Motivated Impact Learning Environment) Method that encourages exploration of STEAM and motivates to pursue education. We track literacy in multiple areas to gauge our traction and effectiveness.

Children and youth

We will unite women to empower one another and bring new sustainable energy for their families. This initiative will see our leaders in arts, crafts, business, and e-commerce across the globe work together to create a new chapter for the villages of the developing MENAP Region.

We will take this a step further and mentor the participants with wholesome values and family strategy for ongoing success.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To raise awareness to various existing programs that can be accessed worldwide in the field of education.
To bridge the gap between educational programs and students who either may not know about them or currently do not have access to them.
To inspire students to embrace learning, embrace mistakes, and enjoy a lifestyle of learning.
To educate parents in the ideas of Self-Organized Learning Environments so their children can guide themselves on their educational journey.
To build S.T.E.A.M. Retreats to curate the educational process.
To build SMILE Spaces where students of all ages can guide themselves in peaceful and healthy environments that make an impact on the world.

We will expand our large cloud education platform that brings together students from all over the world and create engaging content that bridges STEAM resources with students of all ages so they are inspired and curious about the exploration of knowledge.
We will continue to develop SMILE Spaces that have a zen vibe to them and setup membership for these.
We will continue to host Curiosity Camps at our SMILE Spaces to showcase how this learning environment can be used and utilized.

Our Board of Directors and Executives are comprised of leaders in Education, Community Development, leaders in IT, and leaders in the Corporate World. With a combined 30 years experience, we have a strong team who is devoting their time along with over 50 volunteers worldwide already since our inception a few months ago.

We have developed software partnerships with Khan Academy, Microsoft, Google, and others to create a dynamic and robust Cloud Platform that can be accessed all over the world for our educational needs.

We have over 20 years experience in architectural design and community development to create the SMILE Spaces. We have already created them in Pakistan, China, Costa Rica, California, West Virginia, and Ohio. We are equipped to build these in an international capacity with multiple concepts that thrive once we are finished.

We have already built SMILE Spaces around the world and have the foundation built for our Cloud Education Platform. We have already put the Cloud platform into use for over 1 year, have used the SMILE Spaces for over 7 years, and have already created very strong partnerships in Education with many companies in this sector.

Our next step is to build APIs to better track students in Power BI and to acquire the real estate our SMILE Spaces currently run out of. We currently are leasing this land and desire to expand it further by having Tao Learning Institute own the land.

After acquiring the land we are currently using, we will continue to seek new land to open new Chapters of our SMILE Spaces and repeat the model.

We will host more SMILE Retreats and encourage students to become members on our platform to increase their literacy in the subjects of STEAM

Data
  • We review compensation data across the organization (and by staff levels) to identify disparities by race.
  • We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
  • We analyze disaggregated data and root causes of race disparities that impact the organization's programs, portfolios, and the populations served.
  • We disaggregate data to adjust programming goals to keep pace with changing needs of the communities we support.
  • We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
  • We disaggregate data by demographics, including race, in every policy and program measured.
  • We have long-term strategic plans and measurable goals for creating a culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
Policies and processes
  • We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
  • We have a promotion process that anticipates and mitigates implicit and explicit biases about people of color serving in leadership positions.
  • We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
  • We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
  • We help senior leadership understand how to be inclusive leaders with learning approaches that emphasize reflection, iteration, and adaptability.
  • We measure and then disaggregate job satisfaction and retention data by race, function, level, and/or team.
  • We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
