What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Keep It Sacred Sister (KISS) recognizes there is a great need in the United Sates to protect, empower, and connect survivors of sexual abuse to healing resources and community. It is reported that every 93 seconds an American is sexually assaulted and 90% of those victims are women. That makes 1 in 6 women a survivor, or 27 million females in the USA to date. The US government spends $2B annually on women's health, still only 20% of survivors are getting help. If left untreated, rape causes a lifetime of pain that ultimately steals the joy, harms the health, and ruins the relationships in the lives of these women. KISS believes every survivor deserves to heal and we are committed to getting survivors the help they need.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

KISS aims to increase reporting of sexual abuse, decrease sexual violence against women, and provide personalized access to care for healing among survivors by increasing access to and awareness of resources and community available to women. In 1994, Congress passed VAWA (Violence Against Women Act) which dramatically decreased violence against women by 50% . KISS believes the same (or greater) impact is possible for decreasing sexual violence against women by improving the process and access by which a women finds, engages with, and receives help after sexual abuse.

KISS has three programs aimed that target the problem women are facing against sexual violence.

First, the KISS Mobile App creates a single-point of access whereby a survivor can search for all her available options, during and after a crisis. Our app is designed to create a personalized point of connection for women in need of counseling, legal aid, and recovery tools.

Second, KISS Campus Safety Rating System is a single-score for campus safety that determines the safety of every college campus in the United States, where rape is most prevalent and women are 3-4 times more likely to be abused. KISS bases the single-score on a number of criteria, such as history of abuse on campus, institutional accountability measures, availability of campus resources, safety officers on campus, groups for women, self-defense policies, and more. KISS Campus aims to disrupt campus rape culture through increased institutional accountability. We believe rape statistics should impact school ratings and that prospective female students should have the option to search for their choice college based on her safety.

Lastly, our KISS Care program provides survivors of abuse with a care-kit after their rape examination and during their recovery and rehabilitation journey. We build our care kits with the survivors healing and self-care in mind, gifting her with a specially made KISS panty to restore her dignity in her most vulnerable area.

KISS is connected to the vast network of survivor resources, advocacy groups, and care providers that constitute for the core of our KISS Mobile App. KISS has access to data from VAWA, Clery Act, and other governmental mandated yearly reports from which we are deriving the KISS Campus school ratings. We raise revenue for our solutions through private donor, social crowdfunding campaigns, and our 1:1 online panty store, where every dollar raised goes directly to helping survivors.

KISS was founded in 2019 and is currently in the early stages of funding and development. We are in the process of developing our production and distribution channels for KISS Care to bring our 1:1 online panty store to consumers by Fall 2020. Next, we are designing and building our KISS Mobile App and aggregating and analyzing data for KISS Campus scores. Later, we will beta-test our KISS mobile app and KISS Campus rating system in the Spring of 2021.
