What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

The crisis of global disease is unsustainable by loss of life and cost. The Ionic Alliance Foundation (IAF) will rewrite the current ineffective pharmaceutical business model and establish a new disruptive parallel model that allows for a collective impact on solutions. The core concept of IAF is that since the public is investing in the solution the public should also reap the benefits. A collective impact on creating an affordable and obtainable control of diseases. The most effective and sustainable approach to reducing global diseases begins with preventive therapies. The future of medicine must be prevention. The cost of drug development alone requires billions of USD per indication creating a drug or surgical intervention that is not affordable and therefore unattainable. This cost directly removes the needy, sick, and under-diagnosed from the healthcare system. Lack of healthcare access allows for some diseases to spread, places a significant financial burden on society.

Our programs

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Oxidative Stress Study

In all living organisms, including humans, takes place a delicate equilibrium between the production and the elimination - by antioxidant defense system - of the so called "free radicals. The breaking of this balance, frequently named as "oxidative stress", may induce a cellular damage with differencing degrees of severity, leading ultimately, over time, to early aging and to many diseases.
IAF has created a topical product using Ion Biotechnology to reduce oxidative stress. The reduction of oxidative stress by definition is "prevention".
Research across the globe has determined that oxidative stress is the precursor for many diseases. Oxidative stress is a pathological condition triggered by the damaging action on the cells and tissues of the body, caused by abnormally increased amounts of free radicals. Free radicals are single or grouped atoms having at least one external orbital "occupied" by one single electron "unpaired" instead of a couple of electrons "lone pair".
The first use of IAF funding will be used towards proof of concept through an independent clinical trial on humans. A third party study design will measure the current levels of oxidative stress in the study subjects blood. The Carratelli's pannel for oxidative stress assessment uses reactive oxygen metabolites (d-ROMs test) and the plasma antioxidant barrier (BAP test). This test will be taken before application of the product and after different timeliness and amounts of application to determine the reduction levels of oxidative stress.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

To empower people to enhance health and minimize disease by making the science behind Ion Biotechnology available worldwide at a reasonable cost.

Analyzing the top disease contributors that IAF will have the most statistically significant impact are in these three areas:

1 - Fight Infectious Diseases
With infectious disease taking the lives of more than 17 million people a year, the World Health Organization (WHO) has suggested a global crisis may be on the horizon. Antibiotic resistance is the number one global challenge in the battle between humankind and microbes and has been identified by the WHO as one of the three most significant threats to human health. If we do not change superbug-related infections, it will be overtaking cancer and heart disease as our number one killer.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections caused by bacteria, parasites, viruses, and fungi. AMR is an increasingly severe threat to global public health that requires action across all government sectors.

2 - Prevent Cancer
Cancer is the second leading cause of death globally and is responsible for an estimated 9.6 million deaths in 2018. Globally, about 1 in 6 deaths is due to cancer.
While the American Cancer Society's Global Facts & Figures suggest that new cancer diagnoses will grow by up to 50 percent by the year 2030, Cancer is already a leading cause of death for children and adolescents around the world. Approximately 300,000 children under 20 years old are diagnosed with cancer each year.
Approximately 70% of deaths from cancer occur in low- and middle-income countries. Late-stage presentation and inaccessibility to either diagnosis or treatment are common. In 2017, only 26% of low-income countries reported having pathology services generally available compared to more than 90% in high-income countries.
The economic impact of cancer is significant and increasing. The estimated global annual financial cost of cancer in 2010 was approximately US$ 1.16 trillion.

3 - Combat Autoimmune Diseases
More than 80 autoimmune diseases exist. Some are relatively well known, such as type-1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis, while others are rare and difficult to diagnose.
Autoimmune disease is recognized as a major health crisis in the United States. Today, 50 million Americans - 80 percent of whom are women - suffer one or more autoimmune conditions. Thirty years ago, only one in 400 people developed an autoimmune disease. Today, that ratio has risen to one in 12 Americans - one in nine women - have an autoimmune disease. More women are diagnosed each year with an autoimmune disease than breast cancer and cardiovascular disease combined.

Ionic Alliance Foundation, Inc. (IAF) a non-profit charitable foundation for religious, scientific, and educational purposes, formed to protect and further develop the intellectual property (IP) as well as direct the distribution of said IP in an attempt to help as many people as possible. This private operating foundation markets for charitable donations to distribute funds to its own programs that exist for research and charitable purposes.

The steps and strategic goals for IAF are:
- Establish human and animal wellness.
- Develop oxidative stress reduction therapies.
- Raise funding for the mission.
- Collaborate with academic, nonprofit, for-profit, research and science.
- Fight infectious diseases.
- Advance existing research on human and animal benefits.
- Create cancer prevention.
- Create social innovation to reduce the cost of treating disease.
- Combat autoimmune diseases.
- Make a collective impact that creates a massive statistical decline of disease.

The Ionic Alliance Foundation (IAF) will rewrite the current ineffective pharmaceutical business model and establish a new disruptive parallel model that allows for a collective impact towards solutions. The core concept of IAF is that since the public is investing in the solution the public should also reap the benefits. A collective impact on creating an affordable and obtainable control of diseases.

A unique "Change" based on new science (IP) applied to multiple existing and new therapies. The science is disrupting to how we currently think about treatments. The old model invested in the symptoms rather than in the causes or prevention of disease.
Our strategy is about making smart, strategic choices as the world changes around us and then acting in real-time. Developing a sound strategy means identifying the coordinated set of measurable activities that will reinforce unique strengths and align every decision toward advancing the Ionic Alliance mission.

All budgets are set by percentage of revenues established on these goals and projections:
- IAF Founding Start-Up Fund USD 430 thousand.
- IAF 2020 Funding Goal USD 20 million.

The IAF management team will move quickly from analysis to action. We make qualified assessments of emerging trends and seize the opportunities presented in a dynamic environment leading to pre-calculated results to obtain our mission.

The solution points to a path creating several parallels of collaboration and awareness that currently become crossroads. We will deliver collaborative routes with prevention and treatment, nonprofit & for-profit distribution, IP protection & research, coupled with a regulatory strategy based on cost-controls.

IAF has a unique quality. Unlike most foundations, it promotes, protects, and produces a science that directly helps people. Real-Time Strategic Planning is required to lead a collaborative impact in a new model of drug development.

IAF will diverge from the current drug development model that creates a joint venture dilution of the IP (mortgaging of the scientific research). The controlling interest, in return for an ROI, then sells the developed treatment to the highest Pharma bidder. This business model creates a monopoly, and it produces unaffordable products.
- IAF Programs
- Fund Raising Campaigns.
- Provide additional research into the science.
- Protect the Science and IP.
- Product Access Programs for the needy.

IAF Products
- Product Development.
- Licensed Access to Developed Products.
- Creation of End-User Products for Charitable Purposes.

IAF Services
- Research and Formulation Development.
- Clinical Development and Data Collection.
- Manufacturing Services of the IP for Licensed Purchase.

IAF is promoting sustainability through diversified funding approaches. We support clinical and community-oriented services that emphasize empowerment over money with our clients and donors. Therefore, we are committed to the following principles in our financial plan:
The new programs must pay for themselves.
- Expenditures are by budget assignment based on percent revenue.
- Thirty percent of all revenue resources will be placed in a safe interest-bearing reserve, redistributed in the following years’ annual budget established by the IAF Board.
- Annual budget distribution is allocated by percent of Revenue in 5 different areas illustrated in the IAF Founding Distribution Model below.

We intend to actively apply for foundation and government grants and pursue taxpayer funding support for our mission.
Through IAF's membership in The Foundation Center, we will identify the top 20 foundations and top 20 individual donors based on similar missions and goals in an ongoing effort for additional funding and developing collaborative partnerships.

Through the IAF model, taxpayers are providing charitable contributions to reduce tax liability and receive an ROI for the public benefit.
IAF will deliver the trust in donations to advance our research into affordable therapeutic market-driven costs. Distribution in for-profit markets through in-licensing, advance innovation and charitable returns through ongoing sustainability of controlled reinvestment in the IAF mission.
