When it comes to weight loss and health, the world is full of misinformation. Where can people find physicians they can trust? The Tri-state Obesity Society is a professional membership society that promotes the practice of evidence-based obesity medicine. We created a community for clinicians to disseminate scientific information, dispel myths, and learn from experts and peers.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our vision is to cultivate excellence, professionalism, and partnership in obesity medicine. Our mission is comprised of 3 goals:
(1) To provide a community for individuals practicing or are interested in practicing obesity medicine
(2) To promote the practice of evidence-based obesity medicine by highlight scientific literature and dispelling myths
(3) To educate and train future obesity medicine practitioners

(1) Conduct quarterly events that feature invited speakers or expert panelists to discuss a topic in obesity medicine.
(2) Discuss landmark and new literature that affects obesity medicine practice in an online community forum.

(1) Human capital: Our members are comprised of nationally- and internationally-recognized obesity medicine experts.
(2) Telecommunications: The social media presence of our members allows us to extend our message to a nationwide audience.

Founded in September 2019, the Tri-state Obesity Society has so far organized one live event and a second online event, which were both well-attending with over 50 participants extending nationwide and even internationally. Our reach is expanding with a growing list of subscribers and members, hailing from multiple disciplines including internal medicine, pediatrics, and surgery.
