Donald C Ochsenreiter

Term:

Since Jan 2009

Profile:

Don Ochsenreiter has served as President of the ANNIKA Foundation since January 2009. Shortly after Annika stepped away from competitive professional golf at the conclusion of the 2008season, she and the Foundation asked Don to join the team and help share Annika’s passion for health and fitness with others, especially youth. Prior to joining the Foundation, Ochsenreiter accumulated extensive business experience, including more than 15 years in the golf industry as President & CEO of Burton Golf, one of the leading golf bag brands worldwide. He also served on the Board of Governors of the National Golf Foundation and was actively involved with several key industry growth initiatives, includingGolf 20/20and The First Tee’sNational School Program. Under Ochsenreiter’s leadership, Burton, the oldest golf brand in the United States, grew to be the leading custom golf bag and No. 1 market share brand at on-course golf shops. Prior to joining the golf industry in 1994, Ochsenreiter was an associate partner and manager in two leading strategy consulting firms: Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and McKinsey & Company. Ochsenreiter attended the University of North Carolina and graduated with honors in economics and statistics. He received his MBA from the University of Texas in operations and finance, where he taught in the undergraduate business school and won two teaching awards. He has lectured at top graduate business schools throughout his career.

Leadership Statement:

You haven't met a passionate person until you've met Annika Sorenstam.   Annika was a healthy, active kid growing up in Sweden. She was involved in many sports (not just golf) and always ate healthy meals. Many kids today struggle to find the motivation to get outside and move, and some don't have the opportunity to eat healthy, energizing food. Shockingly, one out of every three American children is overweight - or even obese.   The work of the ANNIKA Foundation is changing the lives of these young people and their families. The ANNIKA Foundation provides kids with the support they need to reach healthy and active goals. We combine Annika's passion for healthy, active kids with the work of our partners to create exciting curriculums and programs for the kids who need it most.   Annika's passion for healthy, active kids parallels her passion for golf. The ANNIKA Foundation's junior golf programs in the U.S. and overseas provide very deserving golfers the opportunity to compete and learn about the game of golf from the best.   All of these children will later become our leaders, our teachers and our medical professionals. They'll be our college grads, our engineers and our athletes. They are our future and the ANNIKA Foundation is proud to help them get there.   Don Ochsenreiter President, ANNIKA Foundation
