Marian's Place

24-hour emergency youth shelter serving adolescents ages 12-19 years of age for emergency housing, family mediation, and crisis referrals; operates 24-hour Helpline at 207-795-4070.

Supervised and independent living options for homeless youth ages 16-21, including a licensed group home location for minors. Goal is for youth to gain the life skills they need to live independently after up to 18 months with the TLP. Locations in Lewiston, Augusta, and Farmington, ME.

Outreach includes street outreach and basic needs services in 3 counties, comprehensive case management, housing navigation, and a Youth Drop-In Center in Lewiston, ME for youth at risk of homelessness ages 14-21. The Outreach Program also includes housing support & case management for youth ageing out of foster care (Independent Living Program). New Beginnings supports young people in rapidly accessing housing (market rate and vouchers/subsidized) and owns/administers two units of permanent housing in Lewiston.

In addition to the Outreach Program, New Beginnings’ Community Services include Youth Educational & Employment Support, Prevention & Training, and Youth Action Board. New Beginnings’ Educational & Employment services connect youth in our programs with individualized academic support, help youth stay in school or pursue further education, explore career planning, gain pre-employment skills, and find/maintain work. Prevention & Training services include HIV and pregnancy-prevention education for youth in all of the agency’s programs that are effective in helping youth reduce risky behaviors, as well as training other providers from across the state in how to do HIV prevention work with high-risk youth and to be more welcoming to youth of all sexualities and gender identities. New Beginnings founded and sponsors a state-wide Youth Action Board (YAB) where young people with lived experience in the homeless, child welfare, justice/corrections, and/or behavioral health systems have paid opportunities to gain leadership skills and advocate for system and policy change in Maine.

New Beginnings offers licensed mental health services and offers flexible, trauma-informed individual and group counseling, therapy, and mental health case management to young people ages 14-24 who have experienced or are at risk for homelessness and their families in the greater Lewiston-Auburn area.
