ANGEL COVERS
Caring for orphaned and impoverished children around the world.
Programs and results
What we aim to solve
The heart of Angel Covers' vision is to empower orphaned & impoverished children to become self-sufficient & break the cycle of poverty in their communities. We do this by ensuring each child has 4 basic needs met:
Education: We believe that enabling children to achieve their academic potential will help break the cycle of poverty & allow them to lead healthier, more productive lives.
Nutrition: AC provides nutritional programs to help orphaned & impoverished children have basic food & vitamins that supports a child's overall well-being. Our goal is to design appropriate nutritional programs that can evolve into self-sustaining projects tailored to meet the needs of all children.
Shelter: A safe, protective environment in which orphaned & impoverished children can sleep, eat, & learn will foster greater chances of success for them in school & employment.
Medical care: AC arranges for preventive care, critical surgeries & medicine to help combat disease and ensure well-being.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Humble Hearts
Humble Hearts was originally started as a school strickly for deaf children in the Nairobi, Kenya area. Since 2005, hearing siblings and others in the area of the school have been admitted to Humble Hearts. Negative stereotypes regarding deafness are being replaced with knowledge of the power of education and the need for all children to be treated equally. There are more than 150 kids in this program.
Huaibei Nutrition Program
More than 40 children in the Huaibei, Anhui SWI are receiving supplimental formula each month. This formula helps keep the children healthy, and allows needed surgeries or other medical care to be received sooner by the child. The babies are stronger and healthier for adoptions as well.
