What we aim to solve
Research indicates that 80% of the brain's pathways are established between the birth and the age of five. Quality child care and early learning are essential to getting a good start in life and having future success. Working families not only need child care so they can work and pay the bills, their children must have a quality early learning experience so they can find success in school and later in life.

Charting impact
Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.
What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
White Birch Center remains a nonprofit early learning facility to help parents find affordable child care and to provide those children quality early learning experiences. We understand the importance of early childhood development in making for a brighter future and higher probability of children finding success later in life. Healthy, well developed children lead to lower rates of poverty and fewer interactions of people in the criminal justice system. This leads to a better society.
What are the organization's key strategies for making this happen?
White Birch routinely assesses our children's progress using 39 state identified learning objectives for children 0 to 5 years old. Collecting this data helps us to develop and refine our curriculum as well as work with parents to continue development in a home environment.
What are the organization's capabilities for doing this?
White Birch employs early learning and after school teachers with education and background in early childhood development. We meet higher standards quality standards, known as License Plus, set by the State of New Hampshire Child Care Licensing Bureau. White Birch has invested in TS Gold to help track our assessments and develop curriculum.
What have they accomplished so far and what's next?
White Birch has been recognized for its work by the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce, receiving the Pinnacle Award as Nonprofit of the Year in 2017. White Birch received the NH Center for Nonprofits Impact award in 2018. White Birch is a License Plus facility as noted by the NH Child Care Bureau. Henniker Community School has noted how well children coming from White Birch Center are prepared for Kindergarten.
