AMERICANS UNITED FOR SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE

aka Delaware Valley Americans United   |   Philadelphia, PA   |  http://dvau.org

Mission

Americans United for Separation of Church and State (http://au.org/)  is a religious liberty watchdog group based in Washington, D.C. Founded in 1947, the organization educates Americans about the importance of church-state separation in safeguarding religious freedom.

Americans United is the only national organization that devotes one-hundred percent of its time and resources to church/state separation. Through public education and advocacy, Americans United works to preserve religious liberty and freedom of conscience as guaranteed by our Constitution.

The Delaware Valley AU Chapter, DVAU, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization whose primary mission is to provide a grassroots presence for the education and advocacy work of the national organization, and to act as the 'eyes and ears' of Americans United in the defense of religious liberty in the local community.

We host lectures and provide speakers on the subject of separation of church and state. We watch for legislation or government actions that may violate the First Amendment, and we report them to AU. We testify before government bodies about legislation or issues. We hold casual discussion meetups for our members. We have also organized rallies, conferences, and more. We do outreach at local community events, and share information on our social media.
