Programs and results
What we aim to solve
As one of the major arts and cultural organizations in southern Vermont that, unlike others, is open year round, SVAC serves Vermont’s 3-part audience which includes our year-round residents, seasonal residents, and tourists from across the country. SVAC continuously aims to understand the needs of our communities and meet those needs by providing high quality arts programming that is accessible and relevant.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Arts Education
SVAC strives to provide opportunities for local and regional artists, to introduce the wider community to artwork and performances of national relevance, and to engage diverse audiences. Through exhibitions, programs, and events at Yester House and the Elizabeth de C. Wilson Museum; concerts and performances in the Louise Arkell Pavilion; classes and workshops for adults and youth in the Hay Madeira Education Studios; and trails throughout its 100-acre campus and the Stroup Family Sculpture Park, SVAC encourages visitors to utilize each of the four programmatic buildings and to participate in the arts.

What is the organization aiming to accomplish?
SVAC’s year-round visual arts programming supports artists at all stages and engages the public, through classes, camps and workshops for adults and children aged 0-18; community art-making programs; field trips to engage with SVAC exhibitions; an annual student exhibition; a new student artist member program that invites youth participation in SVAC member exhibitions and partner programs with regional schools and other organizations. SVAC has remained true to its roots as being an institution by artists for artists, fostering valuable relationships and connections within our local community, and engaging our audiences through different art forms.
