Mission

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, ecumenical housing organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people from all faiths and walks of life to work together in partnership, building houses with families in need.

Objective One: To identify eligible households and shepherd them through the application process to connect them to homeownership opportunities.

Objective Two: To support current CVHFH homeowners in building stability and self-reliance through shelter
A need to develop both resources and capacity to better support our homeowner partners drives the goals for

Objective Three: To increase CVHFH’s capacity to construct and renovate sustainably built homes
A need to develop the capacity and resources required to allow for a continuous building cycle drives the goals

Objective Four: : To provide appropriate financial discipline, models, and tools to help ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization

Objective Five: To strengthen CVHFH Human Resource capacity and continuity
A need for transparent communication and human resource capacity building at the volunteer, board, and staff levels drives the goals of Objective Five.

Objective Six: To ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization, improve and broaden fundraising capabilities. A need for comprehensive fundraising and grant acquisition procedures drives the goals of Objective Six.

Objective One. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on effective outreach and a more efficient and user friendly application process.

Objective Two. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on a structured and sustainable homeowner liaison program and a go to resource guide for new homeowner partners.

Objective Three. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on developing efficiencies in the building process and providing adequate paid as well as volunteer human resource capacity.

Objective Four. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on developing a business model that reflects the ways in which different parts of the organization interact and updating financial policies, procedures and functions.

Objective Five. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on filling our human resource gaps and developing structural avenues of communication within the organization.

Objective Six. The strategies required to achieve these goals will focus on building human resource capacity in this area and increased engagement of the BOD in fundraising.

We have strong volunteer committee structures in place. Each committee was responsible for developing the specific strategies for accomplishing the objectives and each committee is actively working to implement the strategies they developed.

We created designated at our monthly Board meetings to review the progress of and update the strategic plan.

We have developed a building timeline to match the goals of the building objectives.

We have implemented practices to improve our homeowner selection process and attract more qualified applicants.

We have adopted several finance related policies to strengthen our financial systems. We hired an auditor to complete out first financial audit of FY 2021-2022.

We are in the process of developing a staff review, evaluation and planning process.
