ASIAN AND PACIFIC ISLANDER AMERICAN VOTE INC

APIAVote continued its efforts to combat the history of undercounting Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders in the Census by implementing a three pronged strategy; 1) conducting over 50 local in-person trainings across the US, 2) conducting a grassroots to grasstops communications strategy that targeted AAPI communities especially those who were being left out of the Census Bureau's outreach, and 3) creating and providing several curated tools to APIAVote’s network of community based organizations (CBOs) and Coulter Conveners. Additionally, APIAVote expanded the number of organizations, leaders, and volunteers participating in its Census campaign beyond its own traditional network and Coulter’s Conveners. By digging deep into its lists of contacts and relationships, APIAVote’s staff personally engaged and recruited those who typically do not do voter engagement to better reflect the new diversity of the AAPI community in 2020.
