Delegation Program
Delegations to Palestine are the core of Eyewitness Palestines work. Eyewitness Palestine delegations expose participants to perspectives that are not readily available in North America. Meetings with diverse representatives of Palestinian focus particularly on those working nonviolently for a resolution to the conflict and an end to the occupation.
Delegates see the Wall, checkpoints, and demolished homes and learn how these and much more affect Palestinians. The experiential learning that the delegation fosters is intended to motivate action for change when delegates return. Eyewitness Palestine provides materials, support, and mentoring to help returning delegates make the most of their experience.
Education & Advocacy Program
Eyewitness Palestine describes our work as "delegation based education and advocacy. This phrase embodies a commitment to be more than just a delegation program. The Education and Advocacy Program promotes the civic engagement of our delegation participants and the growth of a comprehensive and diverse US-based movement for Palestinian liberation by supporting media work, organizing skills sharing webinars, planning training conferences, and more.
Since 2001, IFPB delegates have participated in thousands of events and been interviewed forthousands of print and online articles as well as hundreds of radio and television programs. More than 90% of IFPB delegates continue to play an active role in grassroots organizing on the local, regional and national levels. Some form their own groups or take leadership positions in their organizing communities.
Racial Justice and Equity
Systemic racism and white supremacy are at the root of the injustice, from the US to Palestine. This is so built into our social fabric, that our battle isn’t only “out there,” but also within personal and professional relationships, and even within our organizing spaces. Institutional and interpersonal racism and bigotry, and problematic dynamics regularly undermine solidarity work. EP challenges unjust policies that collectively dehumanize and criminalize through community organization workshops and pre-delegation trainings for delegates.

Equity strategies

- We ask team members to identify racial disparities in their programs and / or portfolios.
- We employ non-traditional ways of gathering feedback on programs and trainings, which may include interviews, roundtables, and external reviews with/by community stakeholders.
- We use a vetting process to identify vendors and partners that share our commitment to race equity.
- We seek individuals from various race backgrounds for board and executive director/CEO positions within our organization.
- We have community representation at the board level, either on the board itself or through a community advisory board.
- We engage everyone, from the board to staff levels of the organization, in race equity work and ensure that individuals understand their roles in creating culture such that one’s race identity has no influence on how they fare within the organization.
