Since 1981, Nuestra Comunidad has been a leading developer of affordable homes in Roxbury and surrounding neighborhoods, having created or preserved over 800 affordable apartments and nearly 200 units of for-sale homes.

Nuestra's Community Support department serves our residents via three initiatives: 1) Resident Services. Nuestra has contracted with Winn Management to provide high-quality support to all of our residents via Winn's Connected Communities initiative. This includes health & wellness, leadership development and events & celebrations. 2) Formerly Homeless Services. Nuestra now runs A Lift Up, a program originating at City Mission, which provides intensive case management to formerly homeless women and their children who reside in Nuestra properties. 3) Community Safety. Nuestra has retained security staff to ensure the safety of our residents of the Dartmouth Hotel in Nubian Square.

Environmental sustainability is a central element of our work at Nuestra Comunidad. We emphasize sustainability in our real estate, community engagement, and resident services programs to not only reduce our environmental impact, but also to improve health, safety, financial stability, and quality of life for residents of our buildings and the broader community. Green Initiatives includes championing mixed-use, transit-oriented development, building and maintaining green and healthy homes, harnessing clean energy sources, promoting home energy efficiency and creating green community space.
