Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Workshops
Each Tuesday night, we offer free workshops on a variety of topics including production techniques, utilizing and understanding technology, media literacy, and a host of other topics!
Youth Program
NCTV runs various week-long programs through the Norfolk Recreation Department for children and young teens during school breaks (February and April breaks as well as summer vacation). Our most popular topics have been Comedy Skit and Stop Motion Animation.
Media Literacy Week
Each November, NCTV participates in National Media Literacy Week. We teach and analyze media literacy issues with our members through workshops, provide help with technology through walk-in tech-help hours, view and discuss pertinent documentaries with our members, and help our members continue to be knowledgeable creators and consumers of media.
Government Meeting Coverage
Our staff covers select government meetings from gavel to gavel for rebroadcast (and a selection of them live) in our town. We seek to provide information to the residents of Norfolk and are open to requests if a resident or group of residents would like a public board's meetings filmed.
Local Event Coverage
Staff and volunteers alike film events in and around town to later rebroadcast on NCTV's cable channels and YouTube. These events range from parades, lectures, speakers, celebrations, school events, and more!
