What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation supports children who are ill through entertainment, education and community events.

Our inpatient programs include Starlight Sites, Fun Centers, PC Pal laptops, and Hospital Happenings. Our outpatient programs include our Great Escapes Club for families and our Starbright multimedia educational tools.

* Our Starlight Sites program renovates pediatric playrooms, waiting rooms, or treatment areas, making them "kid friendly" for patients and their visiting siblings and family members.

* Our Hospital Happenings program hosts parties and activities in over 60 hospitals throughout New England. We also send our Party In A Box to local pediatric units so staff can host a party when most convenient for their patients' schedules. We ensure hospitalized children have activities, games, toys, and books accessible to them throughout the year.

* Our mobile Fun Centers bring a TV, Nintendo and DVD player right to a child's bedside. Created especially for Starlight, our Fun Centers are designed to be easy to use by children in a hospital bed or with an IV. Fun Centers can be wheeled throughout the hospital and also help occupy siblings in waiting rooms.

* Our PC Pal laptop program connects hospitalized children to a world of multimedia, educational resources, games and each other! Through our Starbright World, children and teens can chat with others about their illness in a safe, monitored website.

* Our Great Escapes club offers special events to seriously and chronically ill children and their families when the child is out of the hospital and living at home. Great Escapes provides fun, social outings for families who may not regularly have the opportunity to enjoy a movie, go to a ballgame, or take a break from the daily demands a serious illness can bring.

* Our Starbright multimedia tools are kid-friendly educational resources that teach children about a disease, treatments and medical testing. Titles include Quest for the Code, a 3D game where children learn about asthma, the triggers and how to manage a treatment plan.
