Population(s) Served

CommonWealth magazine covers politics, policy, ideas, and civic life, with an emphasis on investigative reporting, in-depth analysis, and political mapping. It provides a forum for policy makers and politicians to set forth their opinions. This digital publication , commonwealthmagazine.org, allows us to continue our coverage between issues. To expand its audience, CommonWealth's content is often shared with several local media outlets.

The Gateway Cities Innovation Institute works to unlock the economic potential of small to mid-size regional cities in Massachusetts. Leveraging MassINC’s research, polling, and policy team, the Institute strengthens connections across communities and helps Gateway City leaders develop and advance a shared policy agenda. The Gateway Cities Innovation Institute was built on a commitment to maintain a steady focus on Gateway City issues. By engaging with local leaders and continuously expanding the network, this movement’s potential to effect real change grows.

Population(s) Served

MassINC has utilized its research, journalism, and convening capacities to achieve comprehensive criminal justice reform legislation in the Commonwealth. It assembled Massachusetts' Criminal Justice Reform Coalition and was instrumental in 2018's landmark criminal justice reform bill, which largely drew from original MassINC research and reporting.
