What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Support Groups
Our support groups are safe and welcoming spaces where you can meet with other community members with LGBTQ+ people in their lives, including families whose children have come out to them, friends and significant others, or those who are interested in learning how to become a better ally to LGBTQ+ people. These groups meet once or twice a month, are run by trained volunteers, most of whom are parents, and are filled with people who can offer support, answer questions, and link you to resources. These meetings are free of charge to attend and all information you share is confidential.
Resource & Help Line
Call 866.GBPFLAG (866.427.3524) or email [email protected]. This is a safe and confidential helpline with trained volunteers ready to listen, offer support, and provide resources. When you call this number you will leave a voicemail and receive a call back shortly from someone who is ready to help you. Whatever information you share will be confidential.
One-to-One Parent Support
Want to meet a parent or caregiver that has experience supporting a child with a similar identity? Want someone to explain what worked for them as a caregiver, how they worked with their school, hospital, insurance, or extended family to support their child?
We can match you with someone who’ll get on the phone, email, text, and/or meet with you in a public place and share their experiences. Just call or email the helpline and leave a message. No matter how you choose to reach us, you’ll receive a response within 24 hours and we’ll match you with someone who is a good fit for you. The number that calls you back will show up as “Private Number.”
Safe Schools and Communities
Every person should have the right to feel safe and be in an environment that is free from verbal or physical harassment. Through our Safe Schools and Communities Program, we offer:
• Faculty and student training to stop anti-LGBTQ language and bullying
• Student leadership summits to improve school climates for LGBTQ students and their allies.
• Gay-Straight Alliance/Gender-Sexuality Alliance (GSA) assistance.
• LGBTQ and ally speakers for diversity days, Day of Silence programs, health fairs, violence prevention workshops, and panel discussions.
• Informational forums on bullying, family acceptance, and LGBTQ awareness.
Workplace Support and Education
We are here for you when it comes to creating a more inclusive environment at your school, workplace, healthcare setting, conference, or community. And the best part about our Safe Schools and Communities Program is that it’s a customizable model. We’ll assess your needs and develop a program especially for you with the aim of creating long term sustainable support for your community. That way when you are done working with us you will have what you need to continue on with amazing inclusive practices and policies.
