Mission

Opacum Land Trust is a regional organization dedicated to the conservation of the natural and cultural resources of South-Central Massachusetts. These non-renewable resources are being lost at an alarming rate, and include historic & prehistoric sites, fertile farmland, lush, geen forests, river corridors, wetlands, watersheds, vernal pools, scenic vistas, and habitat for endangered species. The goal is to preserve the character of our communites, promote proactive conservation, and create viable wildlife corridors (greenways) to benefit all species.

Land Conservation

Opacum Land Trust is able to conserve open space through donations or purchases of land or conservation easements. Opacum is currently working with landowners, municipalities, state agencies and other non-profits to acquire and permanently protect land.
