Spirit Fire is an educational non-profit whose mission is to cultivate spirituality and educate people on the importance of consciousness in their everyday lives.

The Practice of Living Awareness, Spirit Fire's meditation practice began reaching people via the internet over 5 years ago. Since then we've seen online meditation become a universal trend. Why, because meditation works and building a global community is at the forefront of everyone's mind. Spirit Fire is committed to continuing this endeavor. Our Retreat Center :Our retreat center in Leyden, Massachusetts continues to evolve and support our mission in many ways. Our focus is on creating an atmosphere which allows the human spirit to thrive. With kindness around every corner; delicious and creative menus that meet the needs of any and every diet; a peaceful atmosphere that fosters mindfulness; and beautiful spaces, both indoor and out, we are seeing the results. We recently added an art barn to the property as a way of incorporating artistic and creative expression into programming.

Spirit Fire is uniquely leveraged to accomplish its mission. We are continually finding creative ways to ensure that those associated are being educated on how to bring consciousness into their everyday life.

The last round of meditation was a huge success. We had over 100 practitioners join our program. We saw record numbers of live participants, robust interaction with our meditation blog, and plenty of signs that folks were regularly downloading our podcasts. As a result, we created online lectures, classes, and meditation retreats to enhance the experience of The Practice of Living Awareness; all of these have been well received and are enjoying equal success. We are encouraged, knowing so many are feeling the effects of awareness being added to their day. Recently, we introduced an exciting program at Spirit Fire Retreat Center, Rai$e It Forward. It is designed to allow groups that would otherwise be unable to use a retreat center for programming, to have that opportunity.

Our focus is on expanding our meditation, retreat, and class offerings. We are actively working with partners and co-creators to enhance our current offerings.

Organizational Demographics

In order to support nonprofits and gain valuable insight for the sector, GuideStar worked with D5—a five-year initiative to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in philanthropy—in creating a questionnaire. This section is a voluntary questionnaire that empowers organizations to share information on the demographics of who works in and leads organizations. To protect the identity of individuals, we do not display sexual orientation or disability information for organizations with fewer than 15 staff. Any values displayed in this section are percentages of the total number of individuals in each category (e.g. 20% of all Board members for X organization are female).
