Mission

Daughters of Zion International provides relief support programs for orphaned, abandoned and abuse children in the most impoverished and undeveloped countries in Africa. We offer empowerment programs to teen mothers and disadvantaged women struggling with the hardships of being a "girl child" in Africa. In Africa, the "girl child" often faces the most discrimination from the earliest stages of life. She is subject to rape, genital mutilation domestic abuse, incest and sexual exploitation. This has caused us to specifically focus on eradicating these facts by doing more to assist these girls. Although we do not discriminate in the services we offer to any age or gender, we have committed to educate others and make every effort to restore as many girls who have been unfortunate to experience such atrocities. We provide a rescue center where children/teens and women are free to discuss in confidence the abuse and discrimination they have encountered. We offer programs geared to restore their hope, rebuild their self esteem and regain their trust in God, themselves and others. We provide every person that enters our care an environment full of love and respect. These individuals learn life-changing skills needed to become upstanding citizens that will one day empower and impact their nation.

What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?

We have many programs that have been designed for the purpose of RESTORATION and EMPOWERMENT. 1. Feed My Sheep: we provide life sustaining food to elderly women caring for children left orphaned due to HIV/Aids and other diseases. 2. WOK(Wealth of Knowlege)Educational program: Our goal is to break the cycle of poverty by increasing literacy amongst disadvantage children and women. Every child regardless of social status will have access to quality education and every woman will have access to the skills training and the entrepreneurship programs we offer. 3. "I am HEALED" medical program: We provide emergency medical care for our registered orphans/widows.... As funds become available We will also offer free medical, dental and immunization upkeep at medical centers to be built in communities that are infested by disease and poverty. Our aim is to increase Aids awareness and premarital sexual abstinence by promoting and distributing information, conducting workshops and health screening/treatment conferences. 4. "Digging Deep" Clean Water Project: In every 8 seconds a child in Africa dies from drinking dirt contaminated toxic water. DOZIN's ongoing project is to dig as many fresh water wells and purification systems within communities where Chlorea is the ruling cause of death amongst children.
