What we aim to solve

SOURCE: Self-reported by organization

Our parish faces an aging population demographic and an overall decrease over the past 20 years in the number of youth and young families that are involved in the parish. As our main donor-base continues to age, many of these individuals are not able to contribute financially to the parish at the same level that they had previously been able to. Decreasing mass attendance (and the resulting decrease in the number of financial contributions) among Catholics is a nation-wide trend that our community has been impacted by as well. We are also challenged by a catechesis deficit among our adult population. Many adults do not possess the most basic knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, which makes it very difficult for them to educate their children in turn.

Charting impact

Four powerful questions that require reflection about what really matters - results.

Our parish continues to try to engage parishioners to become active and participating members of our community. This includes not only consistent generous financial giving, but also the non-tangible investments of time and talent.

As our parishioner population ages, it is a continuing challenge to encourage young families and youth to engage in the practice of the Catholic faith. We are striving to increase our catechetical outreach so that more people can come to know and understand the tenants of the Catholic faith. This will enable them to become more intellectually and spiritually engaged when it comes to participating in the life of the Church.
