What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Veterans Support Programs
VSO invests donations into three programs: The VSO work program, housing program and gift program. Over 70% of donations are invested into these programs.
The VSO work program is designed to assist homeless and unemployed veterans by offering them a minimum wage job. The job is primarily focused on fundraising but it offers a work history, basic training, and a pivot point to find a permanent position.
The VSO housing program offers clean and sober transitional housing to veterans who suffer from chronic homelessness or who participate in the VSO work program. The VSO housing programs are located in Florida, Georgia, Texas, Pennsylvania and Virginia.
The gift program is in partnership with local VA hospitals and living facilities. VSO provides holiday gift packages and gift cards to cover basic needs.
