What we aim to solve
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Youth Scholarship Program
NFPA provides five youth scholarships each year to the foster, adopted or biological children of our members.
Cedarworks Playscape Program
NFPA partners with Cedarworks, a compnay that designs and makes playscapes for children. We provide four to eight playscapes each year that are specifically designed for the needs of the children in the foster family. NFPA provides the mechanism of advertising this program, collecting applications, reviewing applications and then providing some of those to Cedarworks for them to make their final selections.
Annual education conference
Each year, NFPA plans and hosts a national education/training conference for foster parents, adoptive parents, kinship caregivers and social workers, casemamangers, therapists, etc. This conference moves across the country over the period of three years in order to enable people from all parts of the United States to participate.
The Informer
The Informer is a bi-weekly e-Newletter that goes to everyone who wants it. It contains important information from NFPA, an upcoming events calendar, and numerous articles from across the country that highlight what is currently happening in the foster care arena.
Walk Me Home...to the place I belong
A walk/run opportunity that can be held in any local community to raise awareness on the needs of foster care in the community and promote better ujnderstanding of the foster care system while raising revenue for the sponsoring local entity.
National Foster Parent code of Ethics Project
