Mission

Lawyers for Children America, Inc. is a lead child advocacy organization protecting the rights of children who are victims of abuse, abandonment and neglect by providing quality pro bono legal representation and collaborating for systemic change to improve the lives of children.

Goals & Objectives:

LFCA’s goals include:

·         to implement mental health and other services that will positively impact children and youth who are the victims of abuse and neglect;

·         to ensure permanent placement of these children in a loving, nurturing environment;

·         to increase pro bono efforts on behalf of children and families by establishing institutional commitment on the part of major law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, state and local bar associations and universities;

·         to apprise lawyers across the country of the deficits within the juvenile justice and child protection systems;

·         to improve the child welfare system in coordination with other national and local organizations;

·         and to increase public awareness of issues related to youth mental health and violence.

Law Program

How LFCA advocacy works for the children...Lawyers for Children America's program is marked by the quality time, individual attention and hands-on care that LFCA attorneys give to their child clients. LFCA's partnerships with such national institutions as the Yale Child Study Center and National Center for Children Exposed to Violence enables the program to promote a multidisciplinary approach to the representation of children to ensure that their medical, psychological and educational needs, as well as legal issues, are holistically addressed.
