Programs and results
What we aim to solve
Motivated by the inherent worth of each individual and our great care for the people of Haiti, the Saint Rock Haiti Foundation works side by side with the people of Saint Rock and the surrounding rural communities to enhance their lives through Providing quality primary health care; Helping children and young adults access valuable educational opportunities; Instituting community outreach programs that support economic sustainability; Investing in infrastructure to support overall health; and Empowering members of the community to advocate for their rights in the future. We recognize that through our ongoing collaboration with the Haitian government and non-governmental organizations, we will support the shared goal of greater self-sufficiency.
Our programs
What are the organization's current programs, how do they measure success, and who do the programs serve?
Primary Community Based Health Care
At the SRHF Centre de Sante we deliver comprehensive community health services to every patient. Our current space, although humble, houses exam rooms, a dental suite, a small laboratory and pharmacy. The clinic is staffed five days per week by our dedicated clinical and administrative team who provide prenatal, pediatric, adult primary, and dental care. As a community health center, we provide vaccinations and vitamins in addition to our maternal care, malnutrition prevention, hypertension, and STI prevention programs.
Community Development
We know that good primary care cannot be successful in isolation, in a resource poor environment like rural Haiti. When our patients leave the clinic many have limited access to a nutritious diet or educational and economic opportunities to support their families, which limits their ability to thrive. As we strive to treat the whole patient, acknowledging the complex web of biological, social, and environmental factors that impact human health, we have developed a number of community development programs that integrate our clinical services to maximize impact.
Education
Primary and secondary educational sponsorships. Teacher salary support and professional development. University scholarship program.
